The April version of this review sold Muah AI as a $9.99 "Plus" plan with phone calls and a unique photo swap feature. That did not survive a check against Muah's own pages: on 20 October 2026 the VIP page sold three tiers at $19.99, $49.99 and $99.99 a month, live phone calls belonged to the $99.99 tier only, and the "Swap" button in the chatroom switches between saved characters rather than swapping faces in photos.

This update rests on things anyone can check: muah.ai's homepage and feature pages, the user guide, the chatroom page and its VIP checkout page (muah.ai/info/pay.php, which loads from the Purchase VIP button), the terms of service and privacy policy (both dated 5-17-2022), the community character site at card.muah.ai, Trustpilot, the App Store and Google Play, and press coverage of the 2024 breach. It is not a hands-on test, so there are no chat logs or sample images below, and we make no claims about writing, voice or image quality. Where something sits behind the login wall, we say so.

What You Get

Muah AI is a web chatroom at muah.ai for talking to AI companions that can also send generated photos, voice clips, video clips and music. The homepage describes it as "an AI companion platform for adults" and carries a "California Based" label. A demo opens without an account; sign-in runs through email, phone, Discord, Apple or Microsoft.

• Premade companions: on 20 October the demo offered six: Lulu (21, girlfriend), Ashley (26, wife), Velvet (18, mistress), Peach (30, companion), Edward (23, boyfriend) and Eric (19).
• Custom characters: written as free text rather than picked from menus, covered below.
• Community cards: a separate site, card.muah.ai, hosts user-made character cards you can import. See the note on community cards before browsing it.
• Media: photo generation, Photo X-Ray tools, voice generation, live calls on the top tier, video clips and a music generator.
• Languages: the interface offers English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Hindi, French and Russian.
• Apps: a direct APK download from muah.ai, and the browser chatroom can be added to a home screen. The App Store and Google Play listings were gone on 20 October (details under Before you pay).

Character Controls & AI Cores

This is Muah's strongest selling point on paper, and it works differently from the menu-based creators on most competitors. According to the user guide and the chatroom's settings panel:

• Core Prompt: a free-text personality and behaviour description. The counter shown to a free visitor reads "2,000 max (Upgradeable)" tokens; the guide says the limit depends on membership.
• Look-Like: a separate, shorter appearance description used for generated photos.
• Character Slots: up to ten saved companions with separate conversations, unlocked with XP levels.
• AI Core: a model selector with temperature from 0 to 1 (default 0.80) and an automatic fallback to another model when the chosen one fails. "Advanced options" are locked until VIP.
• Memory: the AI receives recent messages within a "membership-based token budget", and an optional beta "Automatic AI Memory Compaction" summarizes older facts into an editable System Summary.
• Backups: slot data downloads as a .muah file; chats export as PNG or HTML.
• Image-based creator: a "Dream Character" tool builds a profile from an uploaded image. The guide asks you to use "a clear fictional adult character image or an image you have permission to use".

If you like writing a character in your own words and tuning it over weeks, this toolset is more flexible than a list of dropdowns. Keep in mind that the useful limits (prompt length, memory budget, which models you can pick) scale with tiers Muah does not quantify on the plan page.

Photos, Voice, Calls & Video

• Photos: free accounts get a photo quota "every 24 hours", per the chatroom's limit message; the number is not published. VIP lists "Unlimited Enhanced Photo Generation"; GPT5/UHD VIP adds 4K photo enhancement.
• Photo X-Ray: VIP lists "Photo X RAY"; GPT5/UHD VIP adds "Advanced Photo X-Ray". The guide calls both "optional adult image tools" with their own access and XP requirements.
• Voice generation: sold as multiples of an unstated base: 3× on VIP, 10× on GPT5/UHD VIP and 30× on Ultra, reset daily.
• Live phone calls: Ultra VIP only, with "30 to 60 minutes call cap that reset daily" and a note that it "requires phone link settings configured".
• Video: the guide's Video Gen 2 dialog prices a 10-second clip at twice a 5-second one and a 15-second clip at three times; the chatroom charges video in XP levels. Ultra's plan list adds "AI video generation (beta)".
• Music: a music generator that also spends XP levels.

Adult Content

Muah markets "uncensored AI companion chat and NSFW features for adults", and its documentation explains how that works in practice. The model list shown to a free visitor on 20 October included entries labelled "LLMV1 (NSFW)", "GPT5 GROK 4.2 (NSFW-Fast)" and several "DEEPSEEK" cores alongside "GPT 5 (Soft NSFW)" and "GPT4O MINI (SFW UNLIMITED)", with the higher entries marked "GPT4 VIP+". We can't verify which underlying model runs behind each label.

The NSFW guide says that "a label does not guarantee every request will be supported", that the selected core and fallback setting shape what you get, and the video tool warns that enabling "Sensitive scenes" can reduce output quality. So pick an NSFW-labelled core if explicit chat is what you want; the April claim that every mode is equally unrestricted is not what Muah itself says. The terms require users to be 18 or older and make them "responsible for all the content" the AI generates from their prompts.

Prices & Which Plan to Choose

The chatroom's Purchase VIP button opens muah.ai/info/pay.php; you can reach it from the demo without an account. We loaded it from France and it still showed US dollars. The card checkout amounts in the page code match the figures below. Prices seen on 20 October 2026:

Which plan to choose:

• Most people: annual VIP at $69.99. Against twelve monthly payments ($239.88) it saves 71%, and it already covers unlimited chat, unlimited enhanced photos and Photo X-Ray. That is $5.83 a month.
• Only if you want the GPT5/GROK cores and 4K enhance: GPT5/UHD VIP at $49.99 a month or $499 a year. Annual saves about 17% here.
• Only if live calls are the point: Ultra VIP at $99.99 a month or $999 a year, the one tier with phone calls (30 to 60 minutes a day), 30× voice and video generation in beta.

Two things to read correctly on the page. A banner promises "a discount of up to 40%" on annual plans, and badges say "$50 OFF", "$100 OFF" and "$200 OFF"; the real saving on VIP is larger (71%), and about 17% on the two upper tiers. The page also rounds down, displaying $41.5 and $83.2 a month for the annual upper tiers; the checkout amounts in the code are $499 and $999, which is $41.58 and $83.25. Most allowances are multipliers ("3x More Voice Generation", "6x Longer Response") of a free base that is not published; the one hard number is the 30-to-60-minute daily call cap on Ultra.

Before You Pay

Refunds, billing and who runs it

• Company: none named. The terms and privacy policy only say "MUAH.AI", and describe it as "a software development company". The homepage says "California Based"; the terms put disputes under United States law with arbitration. Contact is love@muah.ai.
• Refunds: the terms say consumer subscriptions "are NOT refundable". Support "can issue one-time exception partial refund or even full refund" in good-faith cases, and Muah will "counter-dispute" chargebacks.
• The checkout warning: before card payment, a pop-up asks you not to buy VIP "unless you wish to support Muah AI", says "disputing the credit card charge will lead to account permanently banned", and adds "if you are not happy with the service, just email love@muah.ai for a refund". That softer line is not what the terms say.
• Statement name: the same pop-up says the charge appears "under USWEIXIN or AI DRAMA instead of MUAH AI". The page's code routes card payments through several outside domains as well as card.muah.ai.
• Cancelling: the terms say you can cancel "by contacting us at love@muah.ai or automatically within muah ai settings page or payment provider".
• Payment options: card and crypto tabs, plus an offer of bigger upgrades for direct Zelle payments.
• Second brand: the chatroom's code also contains a "Fevermate VIP" checkout with the same three prices, for a fevermate.ai domain.
• Age checks: the terms rely on users being 18 or older. We saw no third-party age verification on the public pages.
• Where the prices are: there is no public pricing page; the VIP page is marked noindex and only reached from the Purchase VIP button.

In practice: expect no refund as a right, ask love@muah.ai first if something goes wrong, and look for USWEIXIN or AI DRAMA on your card statement.

The 2024 data breach

Have I Been Pwned lists a breach of Muah.AI in September 2024, added on 8 October 2024: 1.9 million email addresses, with AI prompts and sexual fetishes among the exposed data. 404 Media, which broke the story, reported that many of the leaked prompts described child sexual abuse, and that the prompts were linked to email addresses, many of them apparently real names.

According to Malwarebytes' summary, Muah's administrator suggested competitors in the "uncensored AI industry" were behind the attack and said moderators delete child-related chatbots; 404 Media reported a moderator telling users in Discord to take such discussions to private messages. An update to that article reported possible extortion attempts using the leaked data.

The privacy policy on the site today is still the 2022 version, with a generic promise of "reasonable security measures". None of the muah.ai pages we read mention the breach. If you sign up, use an email address that isn't tied to your name.

Community cards: a safety note

On 20 October 2026 the front page of card.muah.ai, Muah's community character site, listed a user-made card titled "Little Eva (DDLG)", dated 4 January 2026 and showing 186,137 views. Its description labels the character 18 but presents her as a high-school student, the user's daughter, with a list of childlike traits and an incest scenario. We are not linking to it. A stated age of 18 does not change what that card is written to evoke. Muah's own premade companions are all listed as 18 to 30, and nothing we found shows that Muah picked this card for the front page rather than listing it by date or views; it is user content, which our method counts as a 0.5-point deduction rather than a cap.

User feedback & app stores

There is very little independent feedback to go on. On 20 October 2026 Muah's Trustpilot profile was unclaimed and showed 3.9 out of 5 from just 4 reviews, none in the last 12 months. The only detailed one, from August 2024, is a 1-star report of a paid subscription the reviewer could not view, change or cancel, which was then cancelled without asking. The three 5-star reviews are one-liners from 2025. One is signed "Harvard Han", the name CyberInsider gave for Muah's administrator in October 2024. With fewer than 50 reviews anywhere, the User Feedback score is set to a neutral 5.0.

The homepage still links to an App Store app (id 6450392508) and a Google Play app. On 20 October both returned "not found", and Apple's lookup returned no result for that ID. What Changed Since April

The April piece also scored chat quality, call latency and image anatomy. Those scores came from no documented test, so they are gone.

Muah AI has one of the more flexible character setups we've documented and a cheap annual VIP plan. Pay for it only with your eyes open on privacy and refunds.

On the product side it scores well: a free-text personality prompt, a separate appearance prompt, ten slots, model and temperature controls, editable memory summaries, proper backups, explicit NSFW cores, unlimited photos on VIP, and live calls and video on Ultra. Annual VIP at $69.99 ($5.83 a month) is inexpensive for what it lists.

What holds the score back is everything around the payment: no refunds in the terms, a card statement under other company names, no named operator, a user rating base of four Trustpilot reviews, and a community site whose front page featured a "DDLG" card built around a schoolgirl daughter. The 2024 breach, which linked 1.9 million email addresses to users' sexual prompts, costs it one point under our method (a documented data incident), and it should be part of your decision: do not sign up with an email address that identifies you.

Who it suits:

• Adults who want to write and refine a character in free text, and will pay with a throwaway email
• Users who mainly want text chat and photos and would pay annually ($69.99)
• People set on live phone calls who accept Ultra's $99.99 a month
