Candy AI is one of the best-known AI girlfriend apps, and on paper its offer is strong: unlimited text chat on every Premium plan, a broad creator, realistic and anime companions, and media and live features on top. This page tells you what each plan gets you, which one to pick, and what to know before paying.

It replaces an earlier version that scored Candy AI 9.4 and promised "unlimited image generation" on a $12.99 plan, no anime mode and no voice calls; Candy AI's own pages say otherwise on all four points. This update rests on sources anyone can open: the subscription page at candy.ai/subscriptions, the terms of service (revision dated 22 September 2026), the privacy notice (19 October 2026), the underage policy, about 75 help-center articles, the public character-creator page and Trustpilot, all read on 20 October 2026. It is not a hands-on test, so there are no chat logs or quality grades below. We loaded the pages from France, and the subscription page only showed euros, so prices here are in euros. Where something sits behind the login wall, we say so.

What You Get with Candy AI

Candy AI is a web app at candy.ai for chatting with AI companions that can also send images, short videos and voice notes. The terms name the operator as EverAI Limited, registered in Malta under number C107181, at 56 Central Business Centre, Santa Venera. The subscription page claims Candy AI is "trusted by 50 million people worldwide"; that is the company's own figure, not one we can check.

• Three sections: Girls, Anime and Guys, each with pre-made characters. If male companions are your main interest, our best AI boyfriend apps list covers more options.
• Custom characters: a step-by-step creator, covered below. Free accounts can make one.
• Media and live features: images, image-to-video clips, voice, scripted "Candy Shorts" videos, and token-paid live features such as Live Action, Candy Cam and Candy Roulette.
• Languages: the site footer links 13 language versions, including French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese.
• Web app, not a store app: the help center says there is no native iOS or Android app. The site runs in a mobile browser and installs to your home screen as a web app.

Character Creation & Customization

We read the option lists from the public creator page's form on 20 October, for the female, realistic style. The counts below are exact for that day:

• Style and gender: realistic or anime, female or male.
• Body: 5 ethnicities (Caucasian, Latina, Asian, Arab, Black/Afro), 5 body types from Skinny to BBW, and 4 breast sizes.
• Age: a wheel running from 18 to 55.
• Face and hair: 6 hair styles, 5 hair colors and 3 eye colors.
• Voice: 9 voices to pick from.
• Personality: 12 types, such as Shy, Innocent, Dominant, Submissive, Temptress and Nympho.
• Context: 43 occupations, 19 relationship types and 24 kink tags, from Cuddling to Bondage, Humiliation and Breeding.

That's a broad menu, though the appearance side is narrower than some rivals; Kupid AI, for instance, lists 13 hair styles and 9 eye colors. Creating a custom character spends tokens, and the homepage warns that "the more detailed your companion, the more tokens you'll use". Premium Plus adds a "Create Your Persona" profile so characters know who you are, plus 20 memory slots. Chat: Free vs Premium

We can't grade the writing without a fresh test, so this section sticks to what Candy AI's pages promise.

• Free: the help center allows up to 5 messages in total, across all characters, plus one custom character and one image. The terms state the same 5-message cap. That's a demo, not a free tier.
• Premium: unlimited text messages. Chatting never costs tokens, according to the help center.
• Premium Plus: adds chat customization, user personas, 20 memory slots and 5 cloned chats. Its price isn't shown to logged-out visitors.
• Memory: the homepage says Candy AI "remembers what matters", but no page states a message window or memory limit for standard Premium, so we can't tell you how far back it reaches.

Characters in "Realistic" chat mode can also send photos, voice notes and videos on their own. The help center explains how to switch that off, which is worth knowing if unprompted media spends your tokens.

Images, Videos & Live Features

Every visual feature runs on tokens. The help center lists what tokens buy:

• Image generation, in chat or from the image generator.
• Image-to-video: the help center says Candy AI doesn't generate videos from scratch; you turn a generated image into a short clip. A newer "Build Your Video" tool lets you pick character, action, location and partner from presets.
• Private Content packs for individual characters, and Exclusive Characters that unlock "for a set number of tokens (e.g., 200 tokens)".
• Live features: Live Action (Premium only, mobile only, selected characters; some actions free, some cost tokens), Candy Cam (simulated live stream with token tips) and Candy Roulette, AI video chat at 5 tokens a minute.
• Candy Shorts: scripted videos under two minutes, separate from your chats.

Voice Messages & Calls

Voice is a token feature too. The help center lists "listening to a voice message" and "Voice Calls (beta)" among token uses, and Premium Plus adds "live audio". You choose one of 9 voices when you build a character. Candy Roulette and Live Action add video-style live features on top.

Adult Content & Moderation

Candy AI is explicit by design. The subscription page sells "Generate 18+ Images" and "Generate 18+ Videos", the creator offers kink tags, and the help center describes Live Action as "immersive erotic video experiences". The homepage calls the experience "uncensored".

There is moderation. The terms let Candy AI remove content and restrict accounts, with no refund for either, and two help-center articles deal with messages flagged as inappropriate "by mistake", so the filter catches some legitimate chat. The terms ban attempts to create child sexual abuse material and say known cases are reported to NCMEC.

Pricing & Plans

Candy AI's subscription page shows one tier, Premium, at three billing lengths. We loaded it from France, and it showed euros; a second fetch from outside our network also returned euros, so we could not see US-dollar prices. The page adds that "additional local taxes may apply". Prices seen on 20 October 2026:

Every Premium plan includes the same things: unlimited text messages, your own custom characters, 18+ image and video generation, the full Live Action experience and 100 tokens a month. Yearly subscribers still get their 100 tokens monthly, on the day of the month they subscribed. All three plans "renew automatically for the same price and term", and the terms let Candy AI raise prices with notice before a renewal.

The discounts are measured against the €13.99 monthly price, and the "70% off" on the annual plan isn't a flash sale: our homepage check on 29 September 2026 found the same €3.99 yearly price. The monthly plan now opens at €9.99 and renews at €13.99; on 29 September it was €13.99 from the start. The checkout code also contains billing lines for a weekly plan (€5.60) and a two-weekly plan (€9.79). No plan card offered them to us, but if you see one, those are the prices.

The Math: Billing Length and Tokens

The table spreads each billing option over a month and over a first year, then divides the monthly cost by the 100 included tokens. The per-token figure is a ceiling: the same fee also covers unlimited chat.

Candy AI's referral page values 200 tokens at "$20", or about 10 cents a token. Candy Roulette at 5 tokens a minute would use a whole month's allowance in 20 minutes, and one Exclusive Character at the help center's 200-token example costs two months of allowance. Token packs are sold at candy.ai/tokens, which redirects to the sign-in page, so a month of heavy image or video use can't be costed in advance.

Which Plan Should You Pick?

• Most people: the 12-month plan. €47.88 once, or €3.99 a month, for exactly the same features and 100 monthly tokens as the monthly plan. The monthly plan costs 3.5 times as much per month (€13.99 after a €9.99 first month). For unlimited text chat, €3.99 a month is about as cheap as this category gets.
• Not ready for a year: the 3-month plan. €26.97 a quarter (€8.99 a month) still costs a third less per month than monthly billing.
• Heavy image, video or voice use: budget for tokens. 100 tokens a month won't stretch far on live features, and Premium Plus (330 tokens a month, price shown after sign-up) or token packs are the routes Candy AI offers. Check the token cost of each action in the app before choosing.

Free accounts get 5 messages in total, one custom character and one image, which is enough to look at the creator before paying.

Before You Pay

None of these is a reason to avoid Candy AI, but each one changes how you should buy it.

Role archetypes in the creator

Candy AI's creator offers "School Mate", "Student" and "Step Daughter" as relationship types, alongside an "Innocent" personality and an "Inexperienced" kink tag, and the anime landing page markets "shy schoolgirls" and a "sweet and innocent petite princess". These are adult role-play archetypes: the age wheel starts at 18, and Candy AI's underage policy says it moderates content so it doesn't resemble minors. We'd still rather the editor didn't offer school-themed labels on an adult platform, and they cost Candy AI one point in our score. We also left three of the advertiser images Candy AI supplies to affiliates out of our gallery because the characters looked too young.

Billing, refunds & who runs it

• Company: EverAI Limited, Malta (company C107181). The terms fall under Maltese law, with disputes going to Maltese courts.
• Cancelling: self-serve. The terms and the help center both point to My Profile › Settings › Unsubscribe; access lasts until the end of the paid period. Deleting your account also cancels the subscription. You can't pause a plan.
• Refunds: request one from support@candymail.ai within 24 hours of payment, with no more than 20 tokens used, and only for card payments. Cancelling does not count as a refund request. EU and UK residents also get a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase only, minus a prorated amount for what they used.
• Tokens after cancelling: the documents disagree. The terms say leftover tokens expire at the end of the billing period and don't carry over. A help-center article from August 2026 says your balance stays and comes back if you resubscribe. The terms are the binding document, so plan to use your tokens up.
• Payment: cards, crypto (the homepage names BTC, ETH, USDC and Litecoin), Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer, per the help center. If a renewal fails, the terms let Candy AI charge a backup payment method you've saved.
• Bank statement: charges show as "EverAI", according to the subscription page and the help center.
• Age checks: an age gate where you confirm you're 18+. The privacy notice mentions age-verification providers "where age verification is required by applicable law".

Privacy

The privacy notice says message content may be passed to third-party LLM providers, hosts and moderation tools, and that de-identified chats may be reviewed by humans to train Candy AI's models. Data is kept while your account exists and for a period after it closes.

User feedback

On 20 October 2026, Candy AI's Trustpilot address (trustpilot.com/review/candy.ai) showed only a notice: "This profile has been removed", adding that the business "goes against our guidelines and is no longer visible on Trustpilot". Trustpilot does not say why. Search engines still list older pages of that profile, but we can't date them, so we don't quote a score from them, and with no store app either, our User Feedback sub-score is neutral. The testimonials on Candy AI's subscription page are its own selection, not independent reviews.

Candy AI is one of the cheapest ways to get unlimited AI girlfriend chat, on the annual plan, with images, video and voice on top. Heavy media users should budget for extra tokens.

Its official pages cover nearly every feature a companion app can offer: unlimited text chat, 18+ images, image-to-video, voice messages, voice calls (beta), live features and a detailed creator in realistic and anime styles. The only gap is a store app. Billing earns full marks under our method: prices and renewal terms are shown before you pay, cancelling is a button, card payers get a 24-hour refund window, and the company is named. At €3.99 a month on annual billing, the value is hard to beat for chat.

What holds the score back: every media feature draws on 100 tokens a month at costs shown only after sign-up, there's no independent user rating since Trustpilot removed the profile, and the creator's school-themed role labels cost it a point. Pick the annual plan, keep an eye on your token balance, and Candy AI is a solid choice.
