The April version of this review sold Nectar AI as the only AI girlfriend with real-time voice calls, priced at $19.99 and $29.99 a month, with 15-minute call caps on the cheaper plan. None of that matches what Nectar publishes today. On 20 October 2026 its plan data listed three paid tiers, Premium, Pro and Ultimate, at $9.99, $19.99 and $34.99 a month, or $59.99, $119.99 and $179.99 a year. Live calls exist, but Nectar's own docs say they are charged by the minute in credits, separately from any subscription.

This update rests on things anyone can check: the plan and credit-pack data that nectar.ai's pricing page loads, the help docs at docs.nectar.ai, the terms of use (version 2.2, last revised 15 August 2026), the site FAQ, UK Companies House, the US App Store and Trustpilot. It is not a hands-on test, so there are no chat logs or sample images below, and we don't grade the writing, the voices or the image quality. Where a number sits behind the login wall, we say so. We have no affiliate deal with Nectar; the buttons on this page lead to a paid alternative we do earn from.

What You Get

Nectar AI is a web app at nectar.ai (also served at trynectar.ai) for chatting and role-playing with AI companions and generating images and short videos of them. The copyright line runs from 2023, so it was not a late-2024 launch as our old review said. The site interface comes in 14 languages; the FAQ says chat currently supports English, German, Spanish and French, with more to come.

• Companions and Fantasies: the homepage mixes single companions with "Fantasies", multi-character scenarios such as a bachelorette party or a reality-show villa, plus group chats.
• Male companions: there are Female, Male and Anime sections. If guys are your main interest, our best AI boyfriend apps list covers more options.
• Media: an image and video generator tied to your companions, recorded voice messages, and live voice calls.
• Credits: an in-app currency used for calls, video, some chat models, memory features and image extras, on top of the subscription.
• "Love Island": a beta game where Ultimate members can convert credits into "LOVE" tokens on the MegaETH blockchain. Nectar says the tokens have no monetary value.
• App: see the FAQ below. We found no Nectar-published app in a US App Store search.

Character Creation & Customization

The creator is the most developed part of the product on paper. We read the option lists from the site's own interface data on 20 October, so these counts are exact for that day:

• Gender and style: girl or guy, Realistic or Anime. Anime characters add a race (human, elf, devil, angel, witch, cyborg).
• Body: 6 ethnicities, 3 skin tones, 13 body types (from Skinny and Petite to BBW and Dad Bod) and 5 breast sizes.
• Face and hair: 12 hair styles, 8 hair colors and 8 eye colors.
• Personality: 10 presets (Nympho, Submissive, Dominant, Shy, Brat, Romantic, Mysterious, Playful, Possessive, Intellectual), plus your own backstory and speaking style, according to the FAQ.
• Relationship: 12 options, including Girlfriend, Friends with Benefits, Boss, Coworker, Neighbor, Step Mom, Step Sister, Step Daughter and Student. More on the last two under Before you pay.
• Age: the creator states that characters "must be fictional adults age 18 or older".
• Plan-based depth: the plan descriptions promise 4 customizations on Free, 45+ extra on Premium, 95+ on Pro and "all 350+" on Ultimate.

One inconsistency worth knowing: the creator offers a "Photo Reference" method ("Turn a photo into a companion in seconds!"), while the terms say "Image uploads in character creation are not permitted" and the FAQ bans characters based on real people. We couldn't see what the photo method accepts without an account.

Chat Models & Memory by Plan

We can't grade the writing without a fresh test, so this section sticks to what Nectar documents:

• Six chat models: the docs list Nectar Basic, Orchid Lite, Fuchsia, DeepSeek V4 Flash, Primrose and Orchid, and tell you to check each model card "for its displayed price or plan limit" before sending. Some models cost credits per message.
• Message caps: Free gets 15 messages a day, Premium 6,000 a month, Pro 9,000 a month, Ultimate unlimited.
• Context window: Free keeps 15 messages in memory; Premium 8K tokens, Pro 16K and Ultimate 64K. Only Ultimate lists "Long Term Memory".
• Stored memories: you can add custom memories of up to 200 characters and star up to 10 as high importance. The Memory switches show their own price beside them, separate from the model's price.
• Speed: "Faster Messaging Time" on Premium and Pro, "Fastest" on Ultimate.

The FAQ adds a caveat on lapsed plans: premium memory features stop when your subscription ends, and "stored chat history from premium tiers may become inaccessible".

Images & Videos

• Generation allowance: 10 generations a day on Free, 100 a day on Premium, unlimited on Pro (HD) and Ultimate (HD, landscape and portrait).
• Photo messages in chat: 1 on Free, 600 on Premium, 900 on Pro. Ultimate promises "Unlimited Photos of Custom Girls". The plan text doesn't say whether the 600 and 900 are per month.
• Group images: the docs say the V3 model can put up to 10 companions in one image or video.
• Video: only Ultimate lists video generation and video messages. The docs describe V3 video with sound, 5 to 30 seconds long, at 480p, 720p or 1080p, with longer and sharper clips costing more. Prices are shown in the generator, so behind the login wall.

Voice Messages & Voice Calls

Nectar has two voice features, and the docs keep them apart:

• Voice messages: a reply read aloud, with an optional separate narrator voice. Premium and Pro include 50 voice messages, Ultimate 100. Past that limit, the docs say, speech generation costs credits per message.
• Voice calls: a live conversation you can interrupt, with mute and a transcript. The docs say: "Calls are charged by the minute, separately from your subscription. Check the displayed rate before starting." Only Ultimate lists Voice Chat in its plan text.
• Custom voices: you can design a voice from a written description at a displayed price; the in-app text says this needs Ultimate.

So the April claims of a "15-minute limit per call" on a $19.99 plan and "unlimited" calls on a $29.99 one have no source. The per-minute call rate was not visible without an account. Adult Content Rules

Our old review called Nectar "fully uncensored" with "no content filters". That is not how Nectar describes itself. The FAQ splits the site into an SFW mode that filters explicit content and an NSFW mode for adults, and lists banned content: anything involving minors "whether the age is stated, implied by setting, or suggested by appearance", incest, non-consent, bestiality, real people, copyrighted characters and more. Trying to get around the filters is treated as a further violation. How Nectar's own tools square with those rules is covered under Before you pay.

Prices & Which Plan to Choose

Logged-out visitors who open nectar.ai/pricing are sent back to the homepage to sign in. The prices below come from the plan data the pricing page loads from Nectar's servers, in US dollars, read on 20 October 2026. The page code shows the monthly price as is and can apply an extra promotional discount to yearly prices during sales.

On billing length alone, yearly halves the cost of every tier:

The subscription is only part of the bill. Calls, video, premium chat models, memory features and speech past your plan limit all use credits, which are sold in packs. Prices from Nectar's credit-pack data on 20 October 2026:

Which plan, if you pay at all: yearly Premium ($59.99, about $5 a month) for text roleplay and images; yearly Ultimate ($179.99, about $15 a month) only if you want video and voice calls, which also spend credits. Ultimate's 2,500 monthly credits are worth $4.99 at the smallest pack price. What 2,500 credits buy in call minutes or video seconds, we can't tell you: per-action prices only appear inside the app. Our recommendation remains to look at the alternatives first.

Before You Pay

Safety: what Nectar's own tools contain

Nectar's own interface data, which anyone can read in the page source, contains options that sit badly with its rules on minors:

• The image generator's extra-items list includes a "Catholic Schoolgirl" outfit, next to explicit sex acts in the same list.
• The same list offers named anime characters, including Suguha Kirigaya from Sword Art Online, who is written as a middle-school student in that series. Copyrighted characters are banned by the FAQ in any case.
• The creator's relationship options include "Step Daughter" and "Student", and "School" is one of the fantasy filter tags on the homepage.
• Marketing image text on the site describes a "Japanese schoolgirl anime character in classroom".

None of these proves that minors appear on the platform, and the creator insists on adult characters. But a site whose rules ban age "implied by setting" should not be offering school-uniform outfits, a teenage anime character and step-daughter roles in its own tools. Under our method, the decisive item is the named character: a publisher tool that offers a character who is a minor in her source work caps the score at 4.5 and rules out a recommendation. The outfit, the step-family and student roles and the "School" tag are adult role-play tropes; on their own they would cost a point, not trigger the cap.

Age checks. Visiting from France, we saw a click-through "I'm over 18" gate. The site's code also contains a UK-only check run by go.cam, which says UK law requires it. The terms and the FAQ disagree on minors: the terms say users under 18 may use SFW areas, the FAQ says under-18s may not use Nectar "under any circumstances".

Refunds, cancellation and who runs it

• Company: the terms list Nectar AI at 8 The Green, Suite R, Dover, Delaware 19901, and Lick Labs Ltd at 167–169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF. Companies House lists Lick Labs Ltd as company 16759194, incorporated on 2 October 2025.
• Refunds: "Except when required by law, paid Subscription fees are non-refundable." Some requests may be granted case by case, at Nectar's discretion.
• Cancelling: through your profile settings (Profile > Settings > Subscription and Credits), by emailing support@nectar.ai or through Discord. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Plans renew automatically on the same terms.
• Price changes: Nectar can change fees at any time, effective at the end of your current period, with "reasonable prior notice".
• Payment: website subscriptions go through the NMI payment gateway; app purchases through Apple. The footer shows Visa, Mastercard and Bitcoin logos.
• Disputes: binding JAMS arbitration with a class-action waiver. You can opt out by emailing within 30 days of first accepting the terms.
• Account deletion: the FAQ says to ask support by Discord or email; deletion is permanent.

Prices behind the login, and the discount labels

The pricing page requires a login, and the per-action credit prices for calls, video and premium models only show inside an account. You can see the plan price before you sign up, but not what the headline features will cost on top. The plan data also gives each tier a crossed-out "previous" price: $19.99, $29.99 and $49.99 a month, and $240, $360 and $600 a year. The yearly figures are simply twelve months at those rounded list prices, so the "-50% off" and "save" labels are measured against list prices, not against anything you would normally pay. Against the current monthly prices, the real yearly saving is the one in the table above (50% to 57%).

User feedback

User feedback is hard to find. On 20 October 2026 Nectar's Trustpilot page read "This profile has been removed", because the business "goes against our guidelines". There was no review score to report, so the User Feedback score is a neutral 5.0. The homepage instead shows "Featured Testimonials" under the line "Hear from 1M+ satisfied customers", but the quotes come from review websites, not customers. One of them, rated 4.6, is an affiliate directory announcing that "Nectar AI has officially joined" it. Nectar runs its own affiliate program paying 40% revenue share or up to $40 per customer, so treat glowing third-party reviews with care. Elsewhere the site claims "3M+ users"; we can't verify either figure.

Pros & Cons

Alternatives to Consider

These companion sites scored higher with the same v3 method, and none of them carries a safety cap. Each review lists current plans, prices and terms.

Final Verdict — 4.5/10: Not Recommended

On features and price, Nectar AI would rank well. The options in its own tools are the reason we don't recommend it.

The product side is real: the plan text is specific about message caps and memory, the help docs explain more than most competitors bother to, $59.99 a year for Premium is low, and the creator, six chat models, video, live calls and multi-character fantasies give it plenty of range on paper. The billing side is weaker: you can't open the pricing page without an account, calls, video and premium models cost credits at rates you only see after sign-up, fees are non-refundable, disputes go to arbitration, and Trustpilot has removed Nectar's profile.

None of that decides the score. Nectar's own image generator offers by name a character who is a middle-school student in her series, in the same list as explicit sex acts, while its rules ban anything implying a minor. Under our method that caps the score at 4.5, and until it is fixed we would not put Nectar on any list.
