On 20 October 2026, the prompt-suggestion list shipped with SoulGen's public creator page included "loli", "lolicon", "shota", "minor", "teen", "schoolgirl", "high school girl" and "nursery school" next to explicit sex terms, and two of its four default "recommended prompts" contain the word "youthful". Its tools are also built around uploaded photos of faces (Looks Like, DreamTwin, face swap), and the search description of its object-remover page says it "erases watermarks, clothing, text".
A tool that can remove clothing from uploaded photos can be used to make nude images of real people without their consent, which is illegal in a growing number of countries. For both reasons, our method caps SoulGen's score at 3.0 and we do not recommend it. Never use these tools on photos of anyone but yourself.

An AI image and video generator run by Synapse AI Limited in Hong Kong. Its tool range is wide and its credit-cost table unusually complete, and $90.99 a year is cheap on paper. Its terms ban pornographic content, refunds stop the moment you create one image, and the safety issues above cap the score at 3.0.

SoulGen is a web app at soulgen.ai; the older soulgen.net address redirects there. On 20 October 2026 the plan data behind soulgen.ai/pricing listed Pro at $12.99 a month or $90.99 a year, in US dollars even though we loaded it from France.
This review rests on things anyone can check: the pricing page and the plan data it loads, the credit-cost table, the public creator page's configuration, the terms of service and privacy policy (both marked "Date of Revision: 03/2026"), the return policy, the about and contact pages, Trustpilot, and the App Store and Google Play listings SoulGen links to. It is not a hands-on test, so there are no sample images and no grades for image or video quality below. Where something sits behind the login wall, we say so.
Quick Verdict
Not recommended. SoulGen's tool list is long and its prices are clear, but we would not send anyone to a generator whose own suggestion list names loli and shota and whose tools remove clothing from uploaded photos.
Who it could suit, if the safety issues are fixed:
- Adults who want cheap, non-explicit character images on a yearly plan
- Users who like seeing a full per-action cost table before paying
What $12.99 a month gets you: 100 credits, enough for about 100 character images or 2 to 10 five-second video clips, batches of up to 9 images, "Remove blur", a priority queue and multitasking. The yearly plan is $90.99 ($7.58 a month).
The one thing to watch (besides safety): creating a single image ends your refund rights, and the terms threaten a permanent ban if you ask anyway.

What You Get
SoulGen's about page says it is operated by Synapse AI Limited, incorporated in Hong Kong. The site runs in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The homepage title now reads "Free AI Video Generator — Create Talking Videos from Images & Text", and the menu lists, in this order:
- Video generator: image to video, reference to video, video extend and text to video. The homepage claims HD output with sound and lip-synced talking characters.
- AI Character: the original "dream girl" generator, in Real, DreamTwin and Anime modes, each with several named style models.
- Human Modeling and three image editors: Smart Edit, Classic Edit and Extend (outpainting).
- Soul Chat: AI companions, whose page description promises "personalized, intimate conversations".
- API: paid credits for developers.
A face-swap tool for images and video (including VR180 video) still has a page at soulgen.ai/faceswap, though it no longer appears in the main menu. Everything on SoulGen runs on credits, and the pricing page publishes what each action costs. As listed on 20 October 2026:

The gap between images and video is the thing to notice. One character image costs 1 credit; five seconds of the cheapest video model cost 10, and five seconds of the top model at 1080p cost 40. SoulGen does not publish a maximum clip length or sample settings on its public pages, and we did not generate anything, so we can't tell you how the models compare in quality.
What 100 credits buy
Pro's 100 credits a month are generous for still images and thin for video. The table divides each plan's monthly cost by the credits each action uses, assuming you spend all your credits on that one action:

The homepage leads with video, but a Pro month covers about 50 seconds of the cheapest silent video model, or 10 seconds at its best 1080p setting. Anyone who subscribes for video will end up buying credit packs, whose prices you only see once you are already a Pro member. Adult Content: What the Terms Say
SoulGen's public marketing no longer mentions NSFW at all. The homepage, about page and pricing page talk about videos, portraits and image editing. The terms of service go further: section 5.2 bars users from uploading, sharing or transmitting content that is "obscene", "pornographic, indecent, lewd". That is why Adult Content Scope scores 2.0.
The product's own configuration tells a different story. The public creator page ships a list of prompt suggestions that is dominated by explicit sexual terms, and the Pro benefits list includes "Remove blur", which suggests some output is blurred for free users. Whether explicit images or videos are actually produced, and under what conditions, is behind the login wall; we can't confirm it either way. If explicit generation is what you want, a generator that says so in its own terms, such as Promptchan or Seduced, is a safer bet than one whose terms forbid it.

The pricing page fills its plan cards from SoulGen's product data, which we read directly on 20 October 2026. It returned prices in US dollars even though we loaded it from France. There is a single paid tier, Pro:

SoulGen advertises itself as "free", but the size of the free trial is not published. Free accounts generate one image at a time (batches of 4 or 9 are for paid members), "Remove blur" is a Pro benefit, the Soul Chat interface warns that free users' chat memories are only saved for a limited number of days, and an in-app notice says the chat's free trial has ended and messages now cost credits. The site's code also includes a survey offer of 50 free credits and a "Free 1-Month Pro Membership + 50 Credits" promotion; we can't tell from outside who receives them.
On "SoulGen redeem codes": the account menu has a redeem-code field, so codes exist, but we found no official list of current ones. Coupon sites that rank for these searches are not a source we can verify.
We are not recommending a plan here. If you use SoulGen anyway, the yearly plan is the cheaper option per credit, but it is only worth considering once the safety issues above are fixed, and with the refund terms below in mind.
Before You Pay
The prompt suggestions
The creator page at soulgen.ai/create loads about 15,100 prompt-suggestion terms in its page code, the autocomplete vocabulary offered as you type. We read that list on 20 October 2026. Alongside explicit sex terms, it includes "loli", "lolicon", "shota", "minor", "teen", "schoolgirl", "high school girl" and "nursery school", plus many variations on "petite", "flat chest" and school uniforms. Two of the four default "recommended prompts" on the same page contain the word "youthful".
We don't know how the list was compiled, and we did not test whether the generator accepts these prompts. But a tool whose public suggestion list pairs explicit terms with words that describe children has a moderation problem, whatever its back end does. Its own documents don't help: the privacy policy says the service is not intended for anyone under 18, while section 2 of the terms says users under the legal age may use it "under the supervision of your parent(s) or legal guardian". We saw no age verification on the public pages.
Face uploads & real people
Several SoulGen tools are built around photos you upload. "Looks Like" makes a generated character resemble a reference face (2 credits per image), DreamTwin and face swap work from uploaded faces, and the search description of its object-remover page says it "erases watermarks, clothing, text". Section 5.2 of the terms forbids content that invades privacy or publicity rights or uses a third party's personal information without consent.
That rule matters more than any feature list. Making sexual or nude images of a real, identifiable person without their consent is illegal in a growing number of countries and harmful everywhere. Use these tools on fictional characters or on photos of yourself, never on someone else.
Refunds, cancelling & who runs it
- Company: Synapse AI Limited, Flat/Rm 1911, Lee Garden One, 33 Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, registration number 76954156, per the contact page. The terms are governed by Hong Kong law.
- Refunds: the return policy offers to refund your latest subscription payment if you forgot to cancel, "as long as you have not used any credits or created any images since the payment". Requests go through the feedback form within 14 days. Used credits, rewards and sale items are excluded, and there are no partial refunds.
- Refund warning: the terms put it more bluntly. If you create at least one image and ask for a refund, "a dispute will be launch" and you will be "blocked definitively" from the free and paid service.
- Cancelling: the pricing page says the subscription auto-renews and can be cancelled at any time. The terms tell PayPal subscribers to cancel in their PayPal account, or to send a request through the feedback form. Deleting your account also cancels an active subscription, according to the account-deletion dialog.
- Payment: the checkout code references cards, PayPal, Klarna and several crypto routes (Coinbase, NOWPayments and a crypto-via-PayPal option). If a payment fails, SoulGen suggests paying inside a separate app, VidEffect, then logging in on the website.
- Data: the privacy policy says creations you don't post publicly are deleted from its servers after 7 days, and that the service is maintained in Hong Kong, where stored data may be subject to local court or police requests.
Sales pressure
The pricing page headline says "Exclusive Discount Only Today — up to 42% off for first purchase", but in the plan data the discount has no real start date and is set to run until January 2038. And the $155.88 "original price" of the yearly plan is simply twelve months at the monthly rate, so the "42% off" is the normal annual saving, not a special offer. That matters for refunds, because the return policy excludes "sale items".
Apps & user feedback
The site's code links an Android APK hosted on SoulGen's own file server (files.soulgen.ai, version 1.4.0) and a Google Play listing for "net.soulgen.lite.android" that returned "Not Found" on 20 October 2026. The app SoulGen actually sends paying users to is VidEffect, an AI video-effects app. On the App Store its seller is IMAGEN PRIVATE LIMITED, a different company name from Synapse AI Limited. It is rated 18+ and scores 3.6 from 21 ratings, and one reviewer writes they were sent there as the "official app" of their image generator to buy credits and found "not the same app at all". On Google Play, VidEffect has 50K+ downloads and 3.0 stars from 71 ratings. Because VidEffect is not clearly the same product, we don't use its ratings for SoulGen.
Trustpilot has little to go on. On 20 October 2026 SoulGen's claimed profile (listed under soulgen.net) showed a TrustScore of 2.8 from only 3 reviews: a 1-star review from September 2026 says output is inconsistent even on a paid annual plan, and two 3-star reviews from 2024 call the memberships and points expensive. Three reviews are not a trend, and Trustpilot notes the company does not reply to negative ones.

Final Verdict — 3.0/10
Not recommended. SoulGen is cheap for still images and honest about what each credit buys, but it ships a public prompt-suggestion list that names loli and shota, and tools that remove clothing from uploaded photos.
On the product alone, SoulGen would score well on our grid: its official pages announce text-to-image, editing, video, face consistency, realistic and anime modes, batches and an Android APK (Features 8.8), the yearly plan works out at $7.58 a month (Value 9.0), and billing is fairly clear (7.0) with public prices, a named company and a refund for untouched purchases, minus points for the 2038 "today only" discount and no documented self-serve cancellation. Its terms ban pornographic content (Adult Content Scope 2.0), and three Trustpilot reviews are too few to score (5.0).
None of that matters as much as the safety issues. Our method caps any tool that can undress or deepfake real people at 3.0, and the minor-coded prompt suggestions would cap it on their own. SoulGen stays out of our recommendations until both are fixed.
Who should skip it:
- Anyone looking for an adult generator: use one whose terms allow it
- Anyone subscribing mainly for video
