SpicyChat is a web app at spicychat.ai for chatting with AI characters, most of them written by other users. You can start free, and three paid plans, Get a Taste, True Supporter and I'm All In, cost €5.95, €19.95 and €29.95 a month. They are not equal steps: this review explains what each one adds and which is worth paying for.

Everything below rests on things anyone can check: the subscribe page and the plan data it loads, SpicyChat's help centre (docs.spicychat.ai), the terms (updated 23 July 2026), the refund policy (updated 7 October 2026), the privacy policy, the community guidelines and Trustpilot, all seen on 20 October 2026. We loaded the pages from France, so prices appeared in euros. It is not a hands-on test, so there are no chat logs or sample images. This page replaces our April review, whose prices and "no images, no voice" are out of date.

What You Get

The footer and the terms name NextDay AI Incorporated, based in Montreal, as the operator, with NextDay AI USA Inc (Delaware) and NextDay AI EU Ltd (Limassol, Cyprus) as subsidiaries. The help centre's FAQ puts the team at sixty people.

• Characters: a public library of user-made chatbots, browsable by tag. The site's download page claims "300K+ NSFW characters". On 20 October the tag filter counted 211,970 bots tagged Male and 105,580 tagged Female, with tags from Romantic (75,670 bots) and Fantasy (48,240) to Anime (45,500), Horror, Monster and Yandere. Male, MalePOV and FemalePOV are among the largest tags, so it suits AI boyfriend roleplay as well. The site shows ratings and message counts on each card.
• Creating a bot: name, title, greeting, personality, tags, avatar and advanced settings, published as public, unlisted or private. The pricing table lists unlimited character creation on paid plans. The help centre also explains how to import characters from other platforms; imported bots must stay private.
• Storytelling tools: lorebooks, "Rulebooks" with meters and rules that track a story, a Director Mode and a search command, each with its own help page.
• Group chats: 2 to 10 chatbots in one conversation, on free and paid accounts.
• Personas: Free 3, Get a Taste 10, True Supporter 50 and I'm All In 100.
• Scene images: Conversation Images draw the current scene from the character's avatar, description and last message. True Supporter gets them with characters showing the image icon; I'm All In with any character, including private ones. The help centre names DreamShaper-8 as the model, in Anime or Semi-Realistic style, with an NSFW mode you switch on, and warns that it leans toward white women and may change a character's gender or skin colour. There is also an avatar generator with daily limits shown inside the app.
• Voice: text-to-speech on I'm All In: press play under any message to hear it in a voice you choose, with unlimited plays and an optional narration mode. It reads messages; it is not a live call. For real voice conversation, see our AI girlfriend voice chat guide.
• Android app: an official APK downloaded from spicychat.ai. There is no App Store or Google Play app; the sister site PixelChat covers SFW chat and is on Google Play.

Memory, models and reply length by plan

• Memory (context window): 4,096 tokens on Free and Get a Taste, 8,192 on True Supporter, up to 32,768 on I'm All In. The help centre's own example says 4K holds roughly the last 20 messages once a 1,000-token character definition is loaded. Each model also has its own ceiling, and you get the lower of the two.
• Reply length: up to 180 tokens per reply on Free and Get a Taste, 300 on True Supporter and I'm All In.
• Models: six models are listed for everyone, including a 26B default. Get a Taste adds two, True Supporter adds Qwen3 235B and others, and I'm All In unlocks the rest, including SpicyXL, DeepSeek V3 and V4 Pro, Kimi K2 and Glam 5.1. The help centre warns the list changes often.
• Memory tools: a Memory Manager for saving key facts by hand from Get a Taste up, and automatic "Semantic Memory 2.0" from True Supporter up.
• Settings: I'm All In can set temperature, Top P and Top K, and gets priority in the generation queue.

Adult Content, Rules & Age Checks

Explicit roleplay is the point of the site: its welcome page positions it against "censorship" and promises a private space to "explore their deepest desires". The help centre says all bots, even SFW-labelled ones, can engage in NSFW roleplay, and scene images have an NSFW mode from True Supporter up. The community guidelines and terms set limits. They ban:

• any content involving minors, including fictional or AI-made depictions; every bot must be portrayed as over 18, and bots with "youthful or childlike demeanors" are checked case by case;
• non-consensual activity, incest, and any family role-play, including step-family and in-laws;
• bestiality, sexual violence, and sex mixed with extreme violence;
• bots based on real private people, and photorealistic images that could pass for real people.

Age checks are stricter than at most rivals. The help centre lists France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states as regions where NSFW content stays locked until you pass a third-party check, usually a video selfie with an ID fallback. SpicyChat says it never sees the images. In those regions, do that step before paying.

Prices & Which Plan to Choose

Prices as shown on the subscribe page from France on 20 October 2026, in euros. The plan data loaded by the page carries the same figures with currency "EUR". SpicyChat's help centre says US dollar prices are the same numbers and lists separate pound prices.

*The pricing table promises "Unlimited Messages" on every paid plan. The site's interface text also contains a message about reaching a daily "fair use limit" on paid accounts, and a "daily message limit" message for free ones; the numbers are filled in by the server and don't appear anywhere public.

Which plan to pick

• True Supporter (€19.95 a month) is the one we would look at first: it is the first plan that changes the chat itself (8K memory, 300-token replies, more models, automatic memory) and adds scene images with an NSFW mode. Pay monthly first, then switch to the annual €199.95 (€16.66 a month) once you know you'll stay.
• I'm All In (€29.95 a month) if you want text-to-speech, up to 32K memory, images with any character including your private ones, or the full model list.
• Get a Taste (€5.95 a month) only if ads and the waiting line are what bother you on the free tier: memory and reply length stay the same.
• Free to find out whether the library suits you; it needs no card.

Payment methods in the plan data: card, pay by bank (Volt), Alipay and crypto via CoinPayments. The help centre also mentions Boosty. Boosty subscriptions activate within 15 minutes and crypto payments are linked to your account by hand, usually within six hours.

Before You Pay

• Recent price rise: new prices took effect on 8 September 2026. Monthly plans went from $5 to $5.95, from $14.95 to $19.95 and from $24.95 to $29.95; annual plans from $50 to $60, from $149.95 to $199.95 and from $249.95 to $299.95. Subscribers who joined earlier keep their old price as long as they don't change plan or let the subscription lapse; any upgrade, downgrade or switch between monthly and annual moves you to the new prices.
• Refunds: the refund policy (updated 7 October 2026) says fees are non-refundable once your login has been used, there are no refunds for partial months, and crypto payments can't be refunded. The pricing page's FAQ says refunds happen "only under exceptional circumstances".
• Cancelling: self-service: go to your profile, then Manage Subscription, then the payment platform. Benefits run until the end of the paid period. Upgrades are charged pro rata.
• Fair-use cap: "unlimited" paid messages come with a daily fair-use limit whose number isn't published.
• Price changes: the terms let SpicyChat change prices at any time, and add tax mid-subscription if your country starts taxing the service.
• Who runs it: NextDay AI Incorporated, 4388 Saint-Denis, Suite 200, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Quebec law governs, and disputes go to binding arbitration under the ADR Institute of Canada rules, with a class-action waiver and a one-year limit for bringing claims.
• Privacy: the terms say SpicyChat offers no confidential messaging and that operators "may read all messages You send". The privacy policy, last updated 4 May 2023, allows sharing personal data with service providers, affiliates and business partners.
• Age checks: a selfie or ID check in France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states before NSFW content unlocks.
• User ratings: SpicyChat's unclaimed Trustpilot page showed 2.1 out of 5 from 61 reviews on 20 October 2026. Recurring complaints: automated moderation and support with no human to escalate to, peak-hour queues and message limits on free accounts, bland or repetitive replies (including from a paying member in May 2026), and the face-scan age check. A 4-star review from September 2026 says the free version is fun and the paywall less pushy than on most NSFW sites.
• Community content: on 20 October the public tag filter on the home page offered an "Age Play" tag with 10,590 bots. We did not open them and we don't link them. Tag labels alone don't prove a breach, but that tag sits badly next to the rules above; report anything that looks underage. This costs half a point in our score.

SpicyChat is one of the easiest places to try character roleplay for free, and True Supporter is the plan that makes paying worthwhile.

It scores well on adult scope (explicit roleplay plus scene images with an NSFW mode), on features (images, text-to-speech, a deep creator toolset and an official Android APK) and on billing clarity: prices are public, cancellation is self-service and the operator is named. Few rivals document memory, reply length and models per plan this precisely. Value is held back by the price rise: the real upgrade costs €19.95 a month, and voice €29.95. User feedback is weak, with 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot, and the public "Age Play" tag costs half a point.
